Two switches. The game runs with both off.
Load Bearing is a game by DSST LLC. There is no account. Pieces, floors, and score do not change with either switch. Both are under Settings, Player.
Share play
Share play is on until you turn it off.
While it is on, the game sends play reports to a server DSST operates at dsst-telemetry.fly.dev. That server is hosted at Fly.io. The connection is HTTPS. We do not sell the reports, and the game has no ads and no third-party analytics kit.
A play report can include:
- An install id created on the device, a session id, and a run id
- The app version, the mode, the floor, the touch scheme, and the save slot
- The platform, the device model, the screen size, the window size, the display scale, and the canvas the game lays out on
- What you did: the piece you placed and where it landed, Collapses, hazards, shop and trade and match choices, the perks and crew on that run, how a floor or a run ended, and tutorial progress
- The deck as a count of pieces and how many cells they have
A play report does not include your name, your contacts, your photos, a precise location, or an advertising id.
The name you set stays on the device. Builds before this switch did upload that name with play reports.
Turning Share play off stops new play reports. It also deletes play reports still waiting on the device, so that backlog is not uploaded later. An answer you already submitted can still be sent. Reports that have already reached the server stay there. The game has no delete button and no automatic deletion date.
The install id is on the same screen. Tap Copy install id and it goes on the clipboard, and the id is written on the row. Email support@loadbearinggame.com with that id if you want those reports removed. The id is how they are found. If an earlier build uploaded your name, include the name too.
Questions
Questions are off until you turn them on. Turning them on is what asks you, during play, so we can tune the game.
With Questions on, the game asks at most one question in a run. You can skip it. The first three runs each ask one. After that, one shows up about every fifth run. The game also asks the first time a run ends a certain way, and after some shop visits from the sixth run on, when that run has not already asked. The question is about what just happened. You pick a choice. You can type a note, up to 1000 characters, and the note is sent as you typed it.
These are not a coin flip. They show up at those moments, and then they stop until the next one is due.
An answer you submit is sent even if Share play is off, because you submitted it. Skipping a question is sent too, so we know it was skipped. Turning Questions off stops new questions. A question that was waiting is dropped and is not shown.
Feedback
Feedback is separate. You open it yourself, from Help or from the pause menu. Submitting it sends the note, the category, and the rating, even if both switches are off, because you chose to send it. Leaving it without submitting sends nothing.
Children
Load Bearing is not made for children under 13. It should not be placed in a children's category on a store.
